It’s hard for me even to write those words. And to be honest, this piece of my life wasn’t included in my book as it entered final editing.
Do you see how difficult this work can be if we can’t be honest, really honest, with ourselves first?
In our curated, airbrushed, Photoshopped society, I think we all just want a little more real world.
Elders regard life choices with regret or satisfaction based largely on whether they were ‘true’ to themselves.
While I didn’t realize it then, this personality trait was what had allowed me to connect with so many people from so many different walks of life.
I mean, what would I think of you if you didn’t have family and happiness as a top value?!
In a world where we are taught to fit in while simultaneously being number one or better than, nobody knows what you need to do for your own happiness more than yourself.
If your business isn’t working, it’s your fault. If your business isn’t serving you, it’s your fault. If you don’t wake up every day excited to go to “work,” it’s your fault.
