What has my morning coffee taught me about change?
A while back, I took the leap and bought an espresso machine. It’s been a journey all its own as every cup requires refinement.
The bean, its age, its origin, the time elapsed since opening, since roasting.
The pressure, how full the portafilter is, how dense my grind was, how much pressure I applied with the tamp.
They all affect my lowly morning brew (in this case, a delicious Funky Chicken from Red Rooster).
As I finish up the final edits in my upcoming book, I find the same to be true of my life.
The component parts are all the same, but every variable factor changes the outcome of my days, some I can choose, some I cannot.
Deep thoughts for some bean water.
See you on the journey…
